I am taking up Chemical Engineering in a university this year, as I have just passed out from school. I wish to pursue research in Biochemical engineering, after college, in my masters degree. Well this field is what interests me the most right now, and I just wanted to ask if there's a good industrial market for post graduates or doctorates in Biochemical engineering. And if not Biochemical engg, what other similar branches involving life sciences can I opt for in Post Graduation that have a good scope in industrial research (globally)?
P.S. My course is B.Tech Chemical Engg. (with specialization in Petrochemicals and Refining). I opted it because that is the only branch of chemical engg I was getting in a deemed university.

It would still be biochemical engineering, but if you have trouble with human-related fields, how about considering veterinarian fields? Livestock is global and many medical advances for humans (pills mostly) are first developed for animals. It's an idea. What I'd suggest is checking university veterinarian hospitals, I don't know where you live, but here in Canada, we have a pretty big one in Quebec province. Here's the link: www.medvet.umontreal.ca/chuv/animauxcompagnie.htmlSorry it's in French (we're a French-speaking province) but they have students from all over the world.
