Hi guys,
As the title says, I'm looking to upgrade my old Dell laptop I got in high school to a nicer and better laptop for my 3rd year of ME.
Here are the parameters that I am working with and would want on my laptop:
I plan to run software like Solidworks and other programs on my laptop so I want to be sure that my laptop can handle them. Any suggestions for laptops or companies to look at would be greatly appreciated. Also suggestions for software commonly used in ME that I could also use would be appreciated as well!!

- $1,500 to spend grand total
- 14" - 15" screen size (nothing smaller or bigger)
- No SSD but at least 1TB HDD
- RAM (as much as needed or allowed)
- Optical Drive
- Anything but a Mac is alright with me
