Hey!
So, one of the best (or potentially worst) things about college is dorm living (unless your commuting, in which case, I'm sorry).
What kinds of things do you love about dorm life, and what don't you? Have any fun stories from your dorm? Share them here!
May the forum chatter begin!

I prefer living in my own apartment I used to live in a dorm when studying for electrician, it had its up and downs. You never have time alone really but that's good if you're a social person like me, and oh the amount of booze. I often ended up being most of the week drinking and struggling in school because of this. But good times really!

I lived in a dorm my freshman year. It was one of those classical freshman dorms with community bathrooms. It was good experience, but there's a reason I went to the university apartments after that year. I had a horrible roommate too (he left me with some bad habits...) - he was nice enough, but couldn't clean after himself for the life of him. Thankfully, he didn't like me much either and changed rooms at the semester break, so I got my room to myself for a semester. It was awesome. Living only about a couple minute's walk from the dining hall was fun too, though perhaps not the best idea... >.>

Much much much prefer living on my own. I really can't stand having a roommate period.

Whatever you do, don't share an apartment with girls. It might sound like a great idea, but I assure you, it will break you.
Other than that I enjoy dorms, it's nice to just open the door and there's a whole hallway of people to talk to.

As a girl I agree with this...either get your own apartment or try getting a male roommate.

I shared an apartment with two women before (none of which I was dating). To be honest I did it twice, with different people both times. I should have learned the first time, but I made sure to not make that mistake three times It's just too complicated and awkward. Chris Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

All I mean is you're better off by yourself or with a chill group of people.
That's what I have seen at least.

Otherwise things will go haywire, to hell and back, before you know it. I guess that could also be a fun experience in its on way.

The only thing I think I'm gonna miss from the whole university experience will be doorm I've never lived in the doorm since I need my own room so I can study (I can't study in library ). I've been living with a female roomate and it's ok We often go the doorm before going out (we call it pre-drinking ) but doorms here are really awful :/ sharing one bathroom with whole floor (25 students) is a bit too much for me :/
