I think we can all agree this is our main tool, so lets start a topic where we show off our amazing calculators and share tips!
I have no idea if this is the right category for this topic, but seems fine in my opinion.
I use a pretty basic model, the HP 50G, but I like how simple it is to use after you get used to it and how effective it can be.

I used the HP 50G for only one of my courses. It made it a lot easier to solve system of equations that contained complex numbers.
This may be useful for anyone planning to use the HP 50g. My professor made a bunch of videos/tutorials in using it.
Here's the first video of his series:
The rest can be found on his youtube channel.

TI-83 Plus master race reporting in.
Though I haven't used it even once in my two years of engineering, and five math courses :> The suckers are banned in most classes in my school.

I always used the Ti-89 Titanium in school when it was allowed. But since I started work I don't think I've used anything. In the rare occasion that i must actually solve higher math, its those times I must solve it to a ridiculous level of detail that a 5 year old could understand (aka the government). Normally, in practice the math is automatically done by the software we are using. Can't say I mind that though Chris Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

Hey Pelios, I got that one. I use it for basic stuff when I'm feeling lazy. Plus its one of the only calculators allowed on the PE exam.

I definitely feel you on that one. We don't get a calculator for any of our engineering or math courses either. We are expected to derive formulas for the situation using the values we are given, but we never actually solve for an actual value unless we need it for the next portion of the problem.

I use CASIO fx-115MS since I started Engineering, I'm so used to it even that is not one of the best I think.

Casio fx-115es is my jam, I've been using it since Thermo and it's all the calculator I've ever needed since. I love the fraction function. I'm a very visual person and it helps me see the whole equation before I solve it. It's not the best calculator I've ever used but it is convenient.

Yeah, that's pretty much how we do it too. Though It's great way to smash the math straight into students brains. I have only good things to say about it, for example, one's command of mathematics as a language gets phenomenal after a while.

I was good at math in high school, but doing higher level math without a calculator has really increased my ability to do mental math very quickly.
